Niels Didden & Gwyneth van Rijn

Op zaterdag 20 maart 2010 was het NK Latin in het Topsportcentrum in Almere. Dit jaarlijkse evenement werd wederom een geweldig dansfestijn, met goede resultaten voor de PiEp.nu sponsorparen. Niels & Gwyneth eindigden als tweede in de Hoofdklasse en Andre & Peggy werden 9e in hun eerste wedstrijd in dezelfde Hoofdklasse.

I am very proud to announce the latest addition to the PiEp.nu Dance Photography website: Dance Art!

Starting today, I will be offering exclusive Dance Art through the photo gallery. These pictures have been hand-picked by myself as the cream-of-the-crop, the creme-de-la-creme, or in plain English: the very best of my photo collection, edited and displayed for your viewing pleasure. And though the number of photos is very limited now, you can expect to see more fine art being added to the collection over time.

These very specially edited dance art photos are for sale. Though please bear in mind that the amount of work and experience that goes into making this dance art is considerable, so prices have been set accordingly. But if you want to have an exclusive dance art poster, canvas or metal print, the Dance Art gallery is the place to look! Please contact me for further information if you wish to obtain a piece of Dance Art.

And the best part of it all: you can order your own dance art to be made! If you spot a photo in one of my galleries that you would like to be made into dance art, please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss your wishes. I am sure we will be able to come to an agreement on the price!

This year, I was again invited to come to the World Trophy Latin American in the Kurhaus at Scheveningen in the Netherlands. In the weekend of 6 and 7 March, I attended the event. On Saturday evening, the World Trophy Latin was combined with a charity ball organized by SHE energy drink, donating the sum of 200.000 euro to Pink Ribbon. Neil Jones and Ekaterina Sokolova won the trophy and PiEp.nu sponsor couples Niels Didden & Gwyneth van Rijn and Frank & Danique Zegels were 6th and 8th respectively. The Amateur Classic Showdance competition that night was won by PiEp.nu sponsor couple Marcello Nencini & Tessa de Jongh. You can find the photos of this wonderful evening in the gallery here.

On Sunday, the Dutch Championships Professional Latin American were held. In what was to be their last event as competing dancers, Sander Pondman & Ilse Lans took the title here. Furthermore, in the Professional Classic Showdance competition, which was won by Herman Lak & Michele Gleimann, PiEp.nu sponsor couple Jorgen Hultermans & Shirly Habets were placed 2nd! Gisteren in het Kurhaus gehoord: “Een partnership van 20 jaar kent vele ups en downs! Wanneer neem je dan het besluit om te zeggen:” Het is genoeg geweest?!” Voor ons is dit moment aangebroken. Een mooiere manier konden wij ons niet voorstellen. Vandaag, 7 maart 2010, bezegelen wij onze danscarriere met een Nederlandse titel en nemen daarmee afscheid van onze carriere als professional wedstrijddansers… en de titel eeuwige tweede! De hele wereld zijn wij afgereisd om deel te nemen aan vele nationale en internationale wedstrijden en voor het nemen van lessen in binnen- en buitenland. Dit alles heeft ons laten groeien tot de dansers die we nu zijn geworden en we willen daar dan ook iedereen voor bedanken! Alle mensen die in ons hebben geloofd en ons al die jaren hebben gesteund! Een speciaal woord van dank gaat daarbij uit naar onze ouders voor hun onvoorwaardelijke steun!“

Sander en Ilse, ook van mij uit een woord van dank. Jullie hebben de afgelopen 20 jaar het nederlandse danspubliek verblijd met jullie artistieke, sportieve, maar zeker ook sociale kwaliteiten. Het was voor mij altijd een genoegen jullie te zien dansen; daarvoor nogmaals mijn oprechte waardering. Ik zal jullie missen op de dansvloer!

Frank & Danique Zegels

Op zaterdag 27 februari was ik op uitnodiging te gast bij dansstudio Candance in Amsterdam voor de benefietavond Dance 4 Haiti, georganiseerd door Bas Gill. Het was een avond vol schitterende dansshows met een mooie opbrengst voor Giro 555 aan het eind. De foto’s zijn door iedereen (voor persoonlijk gebruik) gratis te downloaden vanuit de gallery.

During the (long) weekend of February 19th-21st, I attended the Copenhagen Open 2010 dance festival. After 3 wonderful days of Copenhagen Open, I returned home with a lot of pictures on my computer, so it took me a week to get them all online. Copenhagen Open 2010 Amateur Combi podium

Just a quick update after the first day of Copenhagen Open 2010: PiEp.nu sponsor couples Janick Lowe & Pia Lundanes and Nikolaj Lund & Marta Kocik had a wonderful day in the Amateur Combi. Janick & Pia were first and Nikolaj & Marta were second in a very strong field of competitors.

Andre & Peggy

Omdat Lenny & Laura overgestapt zijn naar de professionals, ontstond er een vacature bij mijn amateur latin sponsorparen. Ik hoefde echter niet lang na te denken over wie ik graag zou willen dat deze plek zou innemen. Sinds een tijdje ben ik fan van Andre Busger op Vollenbroek en Peggy Steenbergen. Dit zeer getalenteerde paar heeft al een aantal maal laten zien dat zij klaar zijn voor het ‘grotere werk’. Ik was dan ook erg blij toen zij enthousiast en positief reageerden op mijn verzoek om sponsorpaar te worden en ben ervan overtuigd dat we een mooie periode samen tegemoet gaan.
